Focus
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian charity organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities to combat the causes of poverty and injustice. Motivated by a faith in Jesus Christ, the goal of World Vision is to “serve alongside the poor and oppressed as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love for all people.”

Example Project in Sri Lanka
The North Sri Lanka Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Response provides IDP families in the Vanni and Jaffna areas with access to basic necessities during their displacement. Goals of the response project are to feed 9,000 families for at least six months in both displaced areas and when they return home; to provide temporary shelter to 4,500 families; to distribute non-food items such as tarps, towels, candles, and kitchen utensils, as well as hygiene packs (soap, brush, toothpaste); to distribute seed to 3,000 families in Jaffna for the next planting season; and to grant economic assistance to former fish farmers through cash-for-work programs.
